Aeroflot
is Russia's largest airline in the country and was founded
by the Russian government on 9th February, 1923.
Aeroflot was the first Russian airline company to join the
International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1989 and
was the first Russian airline to be included in the
International Air Transport Association's Operational Safety
Audit (IOSA) Registry. The company is fully ISO 9000 safety
accredited.
Today, it operates flights to 95 destinations in 48
countries, including 28 destinations in Russia. Its fleet is

commitment to the highest economic, safety, ecological and
noise standards. In 2008, Aeroflot started receiving Airbus
A330 aircraft which dramatically expanded the airline's
long-haul capabilities and standard of service.
To meet the needs of its passengers, Aeroflot is increasing
its fleet and building its own new hub in Moscow at
Sheremetyevo (SVO-3) Terminal D to serve Aeroflot's flights
as well as its SkyTeam partners.
Sheremetyevo-3 will be the best passenger terminal in the
Eastern Europe and Russia's first full-scale international
hub, supported by a base company and the global alliance.
In April 2006, Aeroflot became a full member of SkyTeam
which is the second-largest airline alliance in the world.

29 Russian and foreign airline companies.
