Alitalia
is Italy's national flag carrier serving 74 destinations in
Italy with more than 2,500 flights a week based on airports in
major Italian cities such as Rome, Milan, Turin, Venice, Naples
and Catania. The integrated Alitalia and Air One, now serves up
to 82 destinations across 38 countries.
The new Alitalia inherited Alitalia's (Linee Aeree Italiane's)
membership of the SkyTeam alliance which it Alitalia-LAI
originally joined in 2001, and Alitalia has since opened up
code-share agreements with SkyTeam members, allowing passengers
to fly to numerous destinations using a single Alitalia ticket.
Alitalia's core strengths is the flight schedules which are
carefully worked out to meet customers needs, making it possible
for roundtrip flights in one day to the main Italian and
European destinations.
The airline's frequent-flyer programme, "MilleMiglia",
is part of the SkyTeam alliance programme, allowing passengers
to collect miles and redeem them with free tickets across the
whole alliance.
It also grants access to Alitalia's
Privilege clubs, Ulisse, Freccia Alata, and finally Freccia
Alata Plus, depending on mileage that is collected in a year,
with various advantages depending on the club.
The airline's commitment is to continue to provide top quality
ground and onboard services so that every travel experience has
that distinctive "pleasure of flying" that is truly made in
Italy.
Alitalia offers code sharing flights between Kuala Lumpur and
Rome in partnership with Malaysia Airlines.
